The lotus is a symbol of growth and purity. The lotus grows straight out of all the mucky muddy water, without wavering or swaying. It’s direction is straight up and out of the muck. And the beautiful thing about a lotus is that it doesn’t stay bloomed. It only blooms in the direction of the sun shining on it. In life, we don’t always have to bloom at every instance. We bloom in the direction of our sunlight. The things and people around us that give us the light to bloom. That is how we protect our perfection and purity. And as we grow straight up through the muck, we realize how much it takes to grow, how many decisions, actions, emotions have led us straight up to this path of blossoming into a lotus. And we realize that equal to blooming is resting.
